Agents help in the fight against Mpls. Property Tax increase

On Monday evening our Sales Manager Scot Pekarek, and Real Estate agent Adam Krenelka were among the several Mpls. home owners that stood in front of the City Council fighting to reduce the property tax increase. The City has a $1.36 billion budget increase for 2011, which will result in a 4.7% property increase. The meeting went late into the evening, finally finishing after midnight with a 10-3 vote approving the increase. Scot was there (minute 1:22), with a visual aid $1700.40 in $1 bills to show that the increase is REAL MONEY, not just a percentage. Mpls. Mayor RT Rybak was sympathetic to Mpls home owners equity issues, but he's predicting an even worse financial situation for 2012. Keep up the good fight Scot!
